Story

Week 8 - 28lbs LOST!!! (~13Kg) The motivation to succeed due to all the support and encouragement has been immense. The Hospice is bowled over by the generosity of my sponsors (the paper sponsorship is about the same level as the on-line page). This will make a real difference to their care provision this year. I plan, and need to, to lose another 3 stone this year but I'm not asking you to sponsor me for this. Some of you have said you will double what you give if I keep this weight off for 6 months and I shall let you know individually but I want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH INDEED for your WONDERFUL ENCOURAGEMENT. I am feeling much fitter already and highly motivated to continue, albeit not quite so fast. With much love and many thanks - this page stay open until end May for additional donations. I'll post the final amount then. Frances

WEEK 6 - 5lbs!!!  22lbs so far.  2 weeks to go and highly motivated.  Hospice thrilled by the generosity of my friends.

Week 5 - 1lb loss only - changed my diet this week and think metabolism is taking time to adjust.  Highly motivated and awed by the generous support of everybody. Watch this space. 17lbs lost altogether and feeling great.

Week 4 - 20 Feb weigh-in - 4 lbs (so probably 6lbs as I'm sure I'd have gained a couple the previous week. ) 16lbs lost in all now. Midway so we were measured and I have lost reassuring amounts off all the right places (3". 3", 2.5"). Calibrated my own scales against the nutritionist's tonight as I'm going to start a serious diet in the morning (their question - what do you think you've been doing so far if the serious diet only starts tomorrow....).

Let's see what 4 weeks more can do - highly positive. The group are very friendly and we are al losing weight - noticeable how we work more in the gym. All the exercise sessions are marvellous, as is the support from all my friends, people at church and people in the choral society who are beginning to notice a change. Hugely valuabe moral support - as well as any sponsorship - so grateful to you all. xx

Mid Week 3 - overeaten as so perishingly COLD.... Not cheated on the wrong foods but overdosed on the right ones (CAN one overdose on Ryvita???). So took cowards way out and didn't go for weigh-in.

Week 2: 6 Feb weigh-in - 2.2lbs lost. Disappointed but not surprised. I haven't been 'cheating' at all but must learn to eat in a different way - snacking on my main meal rather than eating it in one go is a no-no according to the dietician. Also, discovering I am eating too much food - wow - first time I've ever listened to my stomach.

I am THRILLED by how generous everybody is being with the sponsorship and the Hospice is delighted too. It is a conscious support to me not to overeat.

Week 1: 30 Jan weigh-in- 9.8lbs LOST!!! Very chuffed and optimistic.
