Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
“Forget about your lists and do what you can because that’s all you can do. Phone up the people you miss and tell them you love them. Hug those close to you as hard s you can. Because you’re only ever a drunk drivers stupidity, a nervous shop keepers mistake, a doctors best attempt, or an old age away from forever.”
For everyone who had the pleasure of knowing my dad, they’ll know how much he enjoyed walking and scenery that comes with it. I’m walking (more like struggling) 26 mile alongside one of my best friends, Zoe (who’ll hilariously be wearing my dads hiking boots) in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support - in memory of my dad - who recently passed with an untreatable form of liver & lung cancer. We’re doing this to raise both money, and awareness of such an important cause which is very close to home. Cancer is still an almost ‘taboo’ subject much in need of discussion, especially amongst family. The short time my dad spent knowingly battling his life sentence wasn’t wasted, yet we still had so much to do - so much to say, and so much to plan. My dad was unfortunately taken from us too soon, yet I’m hoping to raise money for Macmillan - for those who haven’t been taken, and still have the capability to live.
