Story
Jane and I are taking part in the Wirral Coastal Walk on Sunday May 22nd in memory of our lifelong friend Kath who we had the privilege of meeting during our nurse training at Stepping Hill Hospital in 1987. Kath was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in late 2020 but sadly passed away last week after an incredible journey to fight her cancer. Along the way, Kath found great support and strength from Maggie’s lung cancer group. Kath was one of the kindest, bravest, determined and inspirational ladies you could wish to meet and we are lucky to have so many happy memories that we will cherish forever.
We would like to raise money for Maggie's Manchester in memory of our beautiful friend. Maggie’s Manchester offers free practical, emotional and social support to anyone affected by cancer and their families and friends. Help is offered to anyone with any type of cancer and people can drop-in any time. The Centre is a warm, welcoming place for people to meet others or sit quietly with a cup of tea, but also offers the support of a full team of qualified professionals to help people find their way through the difficult cancer journey. Since opening, Maggie’sManchester has received over 23,000 visits from people facing cancer and their loved ones, which is why it is so important to support Maggie's so people affected by cancer can continue to get the help and support they need.
Any donation is much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read our page.
