Story
So. I have decided that I've spent enough time saying I'm going to do the marathon while watching it from Tom, Tom and Dan's balcony and should really put my money where my mouth is.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects one of my very nearest and very dearest. The body attacks itself resulting in inflammation, swelling, and damage to joints, skin, kidneys, blood, the heart, lungs and any other organ going. This in turn means continuous pain, brutally agressive and potentially cancer inducing medication and way too much time spent having blood checks, organ checks and any other checks going..
Watching someone battle with all of this is pretty rubbish...as is seeing how Lupus remains massively underestimated and underresearched.
Even if it's for no other reason than to see just how red my face can go and just how dodgy my lycras can get, I'd love your support in raising awareness and funding for sufferers of a disease which continues to slip under the radar.
