On January 2nd this year, my friends Laura and Huw were blessed with the arrival of their perfect, beautiful daughter Eva.

Heartbreakingly, on January 31st, Eva lost her battle against meningitis which was caused by a severe streptococcus B bacterial infection. 

To honour her memory and to try and help towards a time when parents will not have to suffer the same devastating experience, I have signed up to take part in the Meningitis Now trek across the eight peaks in the Lake District. It takes place over 2 days in June, and we will climb to over 3000 feet.
