Story
With the current cost-of-living crisis, thousands of people are expected to turn to The Salvation Army for help this winter. In over 650 communities across the UK, we will be doing all we can for them, whatever their circumstances.
The support staff at Founders House have been working hard to transform the quality of lives and morale of our residents by driving the creation of meaningful activities and opportunities for engagement where previously due to Covid-19 there were none.
Activities have been and are currently weekly coffee mornings, movie nights, quizzes, excursions, education, training and employment support, holistic therapy, resident meetings, and The Salvation Army's annual football tournament in which we reached the quarter finals out of 35 teams. In addition, Founders House have delivered an action-packed celebration of Black History Month: https://www.salvationarmy.org.uk/news/salvation-army-lifehouse-marks-black-history-month
No person has done more to improve the quality of life for our residents and to create a positive atmosphere at Founders House, residents, staff, and I (servicer manager) are very grateful to Yvette Allen for all that she has achieved.
We are hoping that this type of care and support and more more is carried through 2023
