Deutsche Bank Jordan Trek · 8 May 2019 to 12 May 2019 ·

This trek takes us into the biblical tales of lost cities, hidden amongst the jebels and wadis of the Petra Mountains.

Story

On 8th May 19, I’ll be embarking on a 60km trek across Petra, Jordan, in aid of Deutsche Bank Charities of the year: Rays of Sunshine and Cure Leukaemia.

Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity was formed in 2003 to brighten the lives of children who are living with serious or life-limiting illnesses, between the ages of 3-18, across the United Kingdom.

Cure Leukaemia helps fund the world class Centre for Clinical Haematology and a network of specialist research nurses in the UK. Funds raised for Cure Leukaemia will not only directly help save lives but also hasten global progress towards eradicating all forms of blood cancer within 25 years.

The Trek

This trek takes us into the biblical tales of lost cities, hidden amongst the jebels and wadis of the Petra Mountains. Our challenge from the shores of the Dead Sea, deep into the desert and the stunning hidden city of Petra, has us spending three nights under the stars. We experience the profound silence of the desert as Moses, Lawrence of Arabia and camel trains have for centuries.
