Story
Our darling Zachary, born too soon on 1st June 2022 at 19 weeks 2 days as a result of PPROM. Zachary you were just perfect and loved beyond words, I’ll forever talk about you and promise you’ll never be forgotten, your missed so very much and I will smash these steps for you 💙
Experts estimate that each year around 250,000 pregnancies end in miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy in the UK. This figure suggests that around 21,000 pregnancies will be lost in the 31 days of July alone. Since loosing Zachary, although going through labour and him being a perfect little baby, in medical terms I had a miscarriage, i have learned a miscarriage is any baby born sleeping/lost before 24 weeks, the gestation of viability in the UK.
We are asking our supporters to spend the month of July reflecting on this figure by raising awareness of the issues surrounding pregnancy loss, signposting people to the services we offer, and raising funds to ensure that the M.A can continue to be there for those that need us most.Last year, over 100 supporters walked, ran, cycled and swam throughout July, so you won't be doing this alone. Please look for the hashtag #MilesThatMatter, and know that we are cheering you on from afar!
