Kirstie's Forty Five 45s

Forty Five 45s · 6 March 2019
I’m planning to spend an evening playing forty five old 45s to raise money for DKMS.
As many of you know, my 11 year old nephew Ben was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia last year and we are so grateful that he is recovering well thanks to an anonymous stem cell donor. DKMS have been phenomenal in their support and do a brilliant job of raising awareness about getting on the stem donor list. Thank you so much again to everyone who’s signed up! We are potential life savers : )
I’d like to raise some money for the charity in my Mum and Dad’s names and in recognition of their love of their grandchildren.
Playing records may not seem like much of a task. Shouldn’t I be running a marathon or swimming across the Channel? Maybe! But doing something joyful feels right. At Ben's age I was sitting on my bedroom floor playing records and my Mum and Dad's love of music soundtracked my childhood. Some of the 45rpm singles I play will be my Dad's originals from his old jukebox that we played with as kids. Some will be my Mum’s gems from her teenage years. And some will be mine that have been gathering dust. There are some classics in there as you can imagine...
It'll be a lucky dip of tunes on the night but I’ll post the whole list of tunes played online. I would love you to join in by donating and in your message let me know which 7 inch 45 rpm single means the most to you : )
Thank you so much lovelies x
