We provide support services and work to reduce the number of baby deaths

Story

Having recently lost our little boy Theodore at nearly 5 months pregnant Steven and I are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the (non profit) charity Sands.

'Sands exists to reduce the number of babies dying and to ensure that anyone affected by the death of a baby receives the best possible care and support for as long as they need it.'

Through Sands we were given a memory box for Theodore, which we really value and treasure. It contains various things like a special birth certificate, his hand and footprints which the midwife kindly did for us, a matching Teddy to the one which kept him company. We've also added to it with a few of the photos we took, the sympathy cards we received, and his knitted baby blanket.

Sands also look after the local baby memorial garden where families can leave commemorative pebbles for their lost babies and have a place that they can they can go to grieve and/or reflect.

There is so much more that Sands have put in place to support people through this heartbreak, all of which is truly valuable for those who experience baby loss.
