Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

July 2018 marked 10 years since we lost our little sister Georgie.

Claire and I along with our husbands, Peter and Eric, and our cousin Stuart and wife Sarah, wanted to mark this anniversary somehow by taking a bit of time out together to achieve something in Georgie’s memory and hopefully raise some money for a good cause along the way. The charity we have chosen is Young Minds.

We are hoping to raise £1000 for this worthy charity; any small donations would be massively appreciated.

Under the most tragic and shocking circumstances at just 14 Georgie’s life came to an end. She was a talented, beautiful but a very normal 14-year-old girl facing the usual stresses and strains that come with that time of life; personal insecurities, friendship feuds, boys and so on. She had a strong, loving and supportive family, and a large network of friends around her, and to this day we all struggle to come to terms with her loss.

We have all changed since that day and life moves on but we still all miss her desperately and Georgie has left an enormous void that cannot be filled.  We’re very lucky to have such a large loving family who will always remember her. She continues to live on in hearts our minds as we remember the amazing childhood memories we shared with her and our amazing parents.

THE CHALLENGE: 29th - 30th September

We will be hiking for the day along the rugged Pembrokeshire coastline in to the night, we will then camp before taking on a mud run the next day, finishing with a cheeky cliff jump.  Plenty of physical and mental challenges but also a beautiful setting for us to take some time to reflect.

Young Minds offer support and empowerment specifically to children and young adults, whatever the challenge.

They are fighting to make sure children reaching out for support with mental health issues whether is due to challenges at school or in their personal life, can get that help when they need it.   Young Minds helps to build resilience in young people to overcome life’s challenges.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
