Story
September 2020 I was signed up to run the 40th Great North Run in Oliver's memory, this event has been cancelled in line with government advice to keep us all safe. Thanks to the creation of the 'Great North Run Solo Challenge' here we are again, ready to do lots more running to raise funds in memory of a beautiful little boy who we all miss every second of every day.
I have 78 days to log a minimum of 40 runs in which I'm aiming to total over 200 miles. This challenge starts on the 28th June (The GNR's birthday) and runs until the 13th September (The original 2020 event date) when I will take part in the virtual Great North Run completing the Half Marathon distance as planned to finish off the challenge.
My nephew Oliver passed away from Sepsis in 2015 very suddenly. His cheesy grin and cheeky giggle are missed every minute of the day but I'm doing my best to do him proud by raising awareness and funds for this amazing charity. Any spare change you can give will go a long way and myself and my family would be extremely grateful.
Thank you!

"Fundraising is at the heart of our fight against sepsis. It raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms. It also funds our vital support work, Public Awareness, Educating Health Professionals & helping people adjust to life after sepsis through accessing our Support Group network. We also lobby government to support our cause and makes vital changes in areas such as the NHS."
