Story
We are fundraising for the British Heart Foundation in memory of our beloved colleague Jemma Rozier, who worked with us for 10 years.
Jemma had such a positive outlook on life, and was always the most happiest and friendliest person in the office. She had a way of making you feel cheerful even after a rough day. Jemma was such an active member of the team and the life and soul of all events, she really was a Gem to work with.
Sadly Jemma passed away in March 2015 of a heart attack, she was just 28 years old.
We are holding this fete not only to raise as much money for the British Heart Foundation as possible, but to show what an impact Jemma made on all of our lives. She made the world a more positive place and she is truly missed by all of us here.
Did you know?
- £10 will pay for all the test-tubes, glassware, pipette tips and gloves a busy team of scientists will use in a day.
- £30 pays for a Heartstart schools training pack which provides teachers with a specialised Emergency Life Support (ELS) skills package to teach children what to do in a life-threatening emergency.
- If you raise £140 you could help fund a cardiac nurse working on the our Heart Helpline for a day. Our nurses provide vital information and support to heart patients, carers and families, helping them better manage and understand their conditions.
- If you raise £180, you could help fund a full day's BHF Heart Nursing Care. In this time a Heart Nurse could care for up to six patients to help them manage their condition and prevent further hospital re-admissions.
- If you raise £200 you could help fund one of our young scientists for a whole day. We currently provide the salaries for around 500 post-doctoral scientists who work in research teams right across the UK on projects to better understand how to diagnose, prevent, treat and cure heart disease.
