“Youth club has helped me, to like stay away from, things like
gangs and all that...”
Young Person – Firth Park Youth Club
Over 45% of children growing up in Firth Park are living in
poverty and that number is increasing (End Child Poverty 2018). There is little for young people in the area, meaning Firth Park can be a tough place to grow up.
Forge Youth have been the club in Firth Park for almost 10 years and having invested in the children the area for many years before that!
We want to continue our work, making a tangible difference to the lives of young people. Through the committed team, who love and serve as role models to these children.
That's why Forge Youth are taking on the 3 Peaks Challenge: To
raise money for our Firth Park youth club. Just £30 pays for the room
hire, meaning we can invest into more young people and get them off the streets. We want to continue this work so we can see positive changes, like in the life of the young person above.
There are 4 of us aiming to climb Ben Nevis (Scotland's highest
mountain), Scafell Pike (England's highest mountain) and Snowdon (Wales highest mountain). All within a 24 hour period.
We'll start at the base of Ben Nevis on 2nd June and aim to get up and down each mountain in under 24 hours, finishing at Snowdon.
We really believe we are making a tangible different in the lives of young people in Firth Park and want to help support that with this challenge.
Please give generously!
