Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support.
Sadly my father-in-law John passed away very suddenly, shortly after our wedding in August 2022, following suspected cardiac arrest.
I’ve completed Pier to Pier twice and our family including John came and supported me on my swim in 2019. I’ll never forget how supportive, proud and excited John was on that day. He loved sport and a challenge and said he wanted us to swim it together the next year but the pandemic put paid to that. This year I’m supporting BHF. John enjoyed swimming in the sea and I’m gutted he’s not here to swim next to me, to tell me 100 stories of his adventures as we swam, but he’ll be there in memory for every wave!
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
