Story
I'm running again, this time just (?!) a half marathon. The running never gets easy for me, but my dad's mantra - inch by inch, life's a cinch - gets me through the long miles.
My dad lost his life to a rare but particularly nasty autoimmune disease called Scleroderma. When you have an autoimmune disease, your immune system sees your body's own cells as intruders, and attacks them. It's frankly horrible, and losing my dad to it was a defining moment of my life. I'm running to raise money for research into this poorly understood but devastating disease. Any support you can offer will be met with heartfelt thanks.

PS For those who don't know - the photo on this page is one I call 'the conversation that never was.' My dad's photo was taken at the Tower of London in 1954. Mine was taken 60 years later. Dad was 22 in his photo, I was 42 in mine. It is the only photo that exists of us together - even though it only happened through the magic of Photoshop.
