Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've decided to run this years London Marathon in order to raise money for a charity close to our hearts and which has a personal connection to me and my family.  The charity is committed to raising funds for pioneering research into the causes, prevention and treatment of vascular disease which prematurely took both Val aged 64 and Lisa aged 37 ...You can donate by clicking on the donate icon - or you can put a cheque payable to Jason French  or cash in an envelope with a message and give it to any member of the family and I will upload your donation with your message on this site on your behalf .

Life has changed for all of us, and not a day goes by when we don't miss them or think of them both, me, John, Poppy, Emma, Katie, our partners and all the children miss Nanny Val and Auntie Lisa  dearly..

I'm currently training and am now realising what the challenge of completing 26.4 miles might entail, but for Val and Lisa, and with support from family and friends, I'm sure I'll be fine (though next time I might just do a sponsored silence)..

I will keep you updated on my training progress, please view the photos,[by using link under photo on left] leave messages and feel free to pass on details of the web page to anyone who you think may be interested in helping.

Thanks Again ...  Jason and Family...

22/01 :   5 mile run today with Andrea- Well done Andrea !- I did sprint at the end though just so I could say I beat her easy .... Made my first £100 so thank-you all so far..

02/02 :  passed the £250 mark ,Thanks again ..

10/02 :  some very generous donations made this week so a big thankyou to all of you especially the Boxall family and Bill., I'm now quarter of the way to my total and thankyou to the Bury Free Press for doing the article.. Still out running,  but just hoping for some milder weather.....

25/02 : More generous donations from Lakenheath under 9's football , Blue , Family and friends pushing me closer to 50 % ...Many Thanks... Ran 12 miles today in 1hr 46 min...depressing to think that it was not even half way.....Thanks Again...

12/03 : Still running!!! got a 15 + mile route I 'm doing at the moment - I was 40 yrs old  yesterday ( unbelievable I know,)  so had a day off from training ..but resumes today .. posted a load of charity boxes around the Village and people have been kind enough to display them, so let's hope people fill them. Great response from St Mary's Church Lakenheath , Thankyou.

25/03. Reached the £1000 mark 50%, thanks to everyone so far... slowed down this week as suffering from shin splints...But not a problem will still be running the marathon and finishing.....

28/04 at last starting to feel human again after a grueling 26 miles,

after managing finally to get back to the UK from Australia via L.A. California after the Ash fiasco I just made registration and was able to start the race on Sunday.. At about 10 miles I started to develop a nasty blister on my right foot and that coupled with about 8 hrs sleep in the previous 4 days didn't make for the best preparation, but I'm glad to say I finished which was what this charity run was about ......At the moment I'm happy to burn my trainers..but in a few days time I'm sure I'll be back. ..I'd like to also give a massive thank you to friends and family for all your support ..
