Story
Massive thanks to everyone who supported us to raise funds for Finlay’s SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy) operation and follow
up physical therapy.
Finlay had SDR back in March 2018 and is still under the Orthopedic Surgeons at Bristol Royal Children’s Hospital, he did not require a hip operation prior to SDR as they decided it was stable, but he may require future corrective surgery as he grows.
Finlay has done incredibly well and is now able to walk confidently with quad sticks.
Finlay has been accessing Conductive Education at Megan Baker House, SDR Rehab and has a weekly personal trainer. He also has a physiotherapy programme that he follows at school, along with weekly hydrotherapy and access to soft-play and other facilities at The Chamwell Centre.
He also went horse-riding once a week pre Covid and we are hopeful that this will start again soon. We have now exhausted our funds and need to raise some more funds to enable Finlay to continue with his level of therapy to ensure that as he grows he continues to increase his strength and stop his muscles from tightening up.
Thank you, Teresa (Finlay's Mum)
