Story
Football Fightback is the response to the unnecessary death of at least 12 young people in the UK EACH AND EVERY WEEK of undetected heart conditions. People like Tonbridge Angels players Jack Maddams and Junior Dian who in the space of 7 years have both died in the prime of their lives of conditions they were not aware of, conditions that in conjunction with the charity CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young can be detected by simple heart screening procedures.
Football Fightback is our line in the sand to this - this must not happen again if we can help it. This is the community of football clubs large and small acting together to raise the funds to support the programme we will initially be rolling out in Kent and the south east. A 2 day screening programme covering 200 young people between the ages of 14 to 35 costs £7,000, or £35 per screening. Every pound helps our cause. Our initial aim is to raise the £28,000 to fund 800 screenings over the weekends of 9/10 January, 20/21 February, 9/10 April and 14/15 May 2016. Originally we aimed for 600 screenings but demand is such that we've increased this to 800...for now.
We CAN do something about this and prevent such future tragedies with the associated anguish, pain and loss. Please join us to Fightback
