Story
In Uganda coronavirus has, like the UK, lead to the loss of many jobs especially in the tourist industry. One of the hardest hit is Buhoma where 80% of the population livelihoods were dependent on supporting people to go gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Many families are going without food. Hunger and starvation are real issues and there is an ever increasing worry that villagers will have to turn to the rainforest for bush meat to feed their children. This threatens local wildlife and fragile ecosystems. This community is in desperate need of our help. Please donate whatever you can and your donation will, through Porlethen and District Rotary (UK) and their Ugandan partner Kabale Rotary Club, go directly to buy food for the families in most need. Thank you.
