Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

I find wintertime in Scotland very challenging with short daylights and cold temperature.
In addition to the current tighter restrictions, there will be many days without seeing anyone which could be tough. This must be even more challenging to many people who are struggling with mental health issues.

Back in December, I had been swimming with couple of friends in our local Portobello Beach everyday in our swimming costume.
Despite the cold water,
I not only felt the physical benefit, but also emotionally and especially mentally.

As we were lucky enough to feel our benefit of our mental health by sea swimming,  we decided it was our turn to help the others who need help.

So we would like to raise awareness and money for the wonderful Charity SAMH by swimming in the sea everyday in January because they do an amazing work for adults and young people who are struggling with Mental heath issues.

- £150 could help the SAMH Information Service provide phone and email support for people seeking support with their mental health.
- £200 could fund our work in preventing suicide by delivering intervention training, vital research and creating information.
- £250 could provide one-to-one support for children and young people who have been rejected from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
