Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My daughter Amelie was born premature at 29 weeks, my first child, i was 27 years old, my wife and i had no close family apart my sister in law and her husband. My wife Zuzana had caesarian operation and gave birth to Amelie who weighted at 1.1kilo. When i saw her first she was tiny, really tiny. Fear, confusion, guilt, hopelessness were the feelings i experienced as i didn't know weather she would survive or not given how small she was and not yet fully formed.
Luckily for me there was many of the staff who were comforting me and reassuring as i was waiting for the doctor.
The doctor sat me down and explained to me in detail by giving examples how everything will turn out to be fine and in the end it did.
My wife spent two weeks in hospital where she was looked after the brilliant nurses of King`s College Hospital.
Amelie we were told was going to keep her in incubator for a few weeks and maybe spend two months there.
She was fed through a tube and all her medications were given to her by injections, she still has little marks in her hands as a reminder of what a fighter she was and still is.
The care all the premature babies received was 24hrs, all the nurses and doctors were beyond helpful, i will never be able to fully repay them, but for them to keep those services they need help and this is the least i could.
All the donations will help this great institution that is King`s College Hospital in ensuring their patients have the best care and their families reassured that their loved ones are in the best hands NHS has to offer
