Story
I'm running the London Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK. I lost my amazing dad this year to prostate cancer, and want to ensure that everyone can keep their dads, partners, brothers, sons, grandads, uncles and friends around for as long as possible. My dad was involved with Prostate Cancer UK - https://prostatecanceruk.org/ - since he became unwell with the disease five years ago, so it is hugely important to me that we carry on with the work he did with them. As a charity they are involved in some incredible initiatives that will hopefully bring about real lasting change, such as their online risk checker so that men can immediately check their risks, funding research that contributed to the world's first precision medicine for prostate cancer, and the latest drive to place a bigger emphasis on prostate cancer in the NHS. Not to mention their hugely valuable and knowledgeable nurses, who are on the end of the phone to provide support to patients and families. My dad ran the London marathon five times during his life and I am hugely honoured to be able to run it in his memory. He will be with me every step of the way.
