Story
Three years ago I took part in a portion of Tribe RFL 3, running 114km around the Azores and fundraising for the Tribe Freedom Foundation. The goals were simple - try not to die, and raise as much awareness and funds to help people living in modern day slavery as possible.
There are over 40.3 million people living in modern slavery worldwide, with an estimated 136,000 people exploited and trafficked within the UK currently. That's more people living in slavery than ever before, both in the UK and globally - COVID has meant that checks and measures to stop this happening have been reduced, so the problem is bigger than ever before.
TRIBE Freedom Foundation is on a mission to fight modern slavery and end human trafficking. They work by raising awareness of trafficking, supporting survivors and enabling frontline projects to prevent modern slavery. They empower communities to create an impact.
TRIBE Run for Love 4 will bring over 500 runners together to push the limits of human endurance to fight for freedom and empower the survivors of modern slavery. To learn more about TRIBE Freedom Foundation and their impact, check out their latest Impact Report here: http://tribefreedomfoundation.com/our-impact/Together, we will go further and faster to end modern slavery.
While I can't complete the full 260km due to a wedding at the end of the week, I will be attempting the equivalent of 4 marathons in 4 days - my longest run to date. I didn't want not completing the whole thing to stop me from doing as much as I can, and fundraising along the way! Let's Do This!
