Story
Heavy rainfall in Bangladesh has left millions caught in the flooding across the country. The low lying areas are submerged under water. Thousands of homes, roads and farms have been washed away by landslides. Families are left stranded on higher ground with no food, homes or means to provide for themselves.
The death toll keeps raising and Millions are left displaced.
The rains have caused the riverbanks to burst burying houses and blocking roads. People are killed by sudden flash floods, landslides or buried under collapsing walls. The situation is critical there is limited food and the only the contaminated flood water to drink. People are being affected by Water borne diseases and Malaria as the crisis continues.
HRF have orgaised an emergency response team to provide:
- Water Pump = £350
- Rebuilding Damaged Homes = £200 (5 Tin sets)
- Feed 10 families = £150
- Treat 50 ill patients = £75
- Crop Fertiliser = £33 per farmer
