 My story started back in 2011 when an everyday throat virus decided to attack my heart, I was eventually diagnosed with severe heart failure, the prognosis wasn't good, my world and that of my partner Lin and family was shattered, with every test I had things seemed to get worse, but I was determined to do all I could to help myself,  I changed my diet, lost weight and gradually increased my walking ability from 5 minutes to my limit now of 1 hour 15 minutes.

 I am thankfully stable at the moment but the damage to my heart will always remain.   I know it’s only a couple of kilometres and I’m walking not running but it will seem like a marathon to me especially as it’s not going to be flat, no doubt plenty of children  & pensioners  run past me but I promise I will resist the overwhelming desire to trip them up as they pass me.   :-)  I will be walking round with Lin who will be supplying me with water & laughter.
