Story
The Felix Project & Flat Iron
As team leader of the Flat Iron Fundraisers' Club I plan to run the cumulative equivalent of 4 marathons throughout May dressed in a Flamingo outfit. As a chef, I am passionate about reducing food waste and about helping those in need get a nutritious meal, especially children. Being the father of two small girls has made me more aware of the children who are unable to access enough food.
If you can donate £20 or more you can join the Flat Iron Fundraisers’ Club with us. Flat Iron will invite all fundraisers in for a steak on us when our restaurants re-open.
The Felix Project & Flat Iron
- The mission of the Felix Project is simple - to take surplus from food from their suppliers and distribute it to any charity that helps feed people. It is all nutritious and would otherwise go to waste. On top of that it helps fight food poverty and and reduces costs for hardworking organisations.
- Over the past few weeks the Felix Project has tripled the amount of food they distribute across London. Their food is helping people who have lost their jobs, people on low incomes, older people who are isolated, children and families who are struggling, survivors of domestic abuse and refugees.
- At Flat Iron we have been working with the Felix Project for a while and we are thrilled to continue to help them through the Flat Iron Fundraisers' club even though are restaurants are temporarily closed.
