In May 2017, FJD Consulting Ltd will be undertaking our biggest and most challenging charitable event to date. Six of our employees will be cycling from London to Paris, over the course of 5 days covering 500km, in support of Myeloma UK. 

Myeloma is a type of cancer which effects bone marrow throughout the entire body which makes it incredibly difficult to treat.

Rather than explaining ourselves, here is a short piece from Deb. She is a friend of FJD who has been fighting this disease for the best part of a decade. Here is her inspiring story.

Hi, I’m Deb and I’m really grateful to the FJD staff for taking on this challenge. I was diagnosed with Myeloma, an incurable cancer of the bone marrow, in 2009 at just 34 years old. With a 3 year old and a 5 year old it was a really scary time as I headed into a course of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant that took me away from the family for long periods of time.

I am really lucky that nearly 6 years after my transplant, I am still on a maintenance therapy that holds me in remission. Sadly, I have seen many of my Myeloma friends lose their lives to this cancer – I will never stop being grateful for the life that I continue to be able to live.

Throughout my journey, I needed to take control over something as I couldn’t control the cancer. I decided to fund-raise for Myeloma UK, a charity that had been supporting us emotionally, and who do so much amazing work in terms of research. 

Since then, I have raised over £100,000 and am trying to get people to help me to reach £125,000…and this is where the amazing staff at FJD have stepped in…so please support them generously!
