Hello All,

 

So, the 5km race for life went without a hitch, and encouraged me to take the running further, so I am going to try a 10 mile run! Training is going to be intense and I aim to be exercising at least 5 times per week...ouch!!! I will work my hardest to ensure your sponsor hasn't gone to waste!

 

As it stands at the moment I am petrified I won't be able to do it. With some sponsors behind me I know it will motivate me, so please get donating! I need to raise £200. Below is some information about my charity.

 

The RNLI is such a fantastic cause. As some of you may know I recently got my masters from research where I had to look at real life UK sea immersion cases. Without causes like the RNLI in place, most of the cases would have ended in death. They didn't. The people who work for the RNLI are volunteers and embark on some seriously dangerous search and rescue cases.

 

The money raised in this race will go towards the RNLI Bembridge Lifeboat Station Appeal. The current boathouse, on the Isle of Wight, is more than 80 years old and is crumbling away. Waves can dangerously crash over the walkway and anyone on it. There is nowhere dry for crew to get changed in and to store their kit - remember these people are volunteers, they deserve to have the best facilities available. The money will also go towards buying a new state-of-the-art Tamar class lifeboat which will bring faster response times, and greater safety for the crew; it would be too heavy for the current boathouse.

 

This charity does some great work. Please guys, take a moment to think about how tough their job is, and please donate generously.
