We raise awareness and funds to support premature babies & sick children

Story

This summer, I'll be walking the coast of the five Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm) in four days.  That's 111 of rugged coast, with individual days covering up to 50 miles.  We believe that this is the first time anyone has taken on this challenge... and it's certainly on the edge of my physical and logistical abilities!

I'm doing this to raise money for the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, which supports families with sick children from across the Channel Islands by providing accommodation right next to Southampton Hospital.

Numerous friends have found that these apartments provide an invaluable refuge, allowing them to be with their children when receiving life-saving care away from family and home.  One family, who recently relied on PPBF's flats while their son received 6 months of chemotherapy, says that "they give a real sense of home to any family that might have to use them - it's the first time that we were able to relax after days on wards, or being passed between beds.  We had a warm, safe place, with lock on the door and our own beds.  They provided a huge sense of relief, like a huge weight being lifted from your shoulders."

The PPBF needs to raise £30,000 to keep their two flats open.  It's a privilege to take on the challenge of the Five Islands Walk to raise money for them!
