Story
We are Ruthie, Claire, Holly, Guy and Paul. We've decided to run 10 miles to support the homeless charity, Turning Tides, with their 'Go the Distance' fundraising event. It is a really big challenge for some of us who have never run that far before. We'll be running between Littlehampton and Worthing, starting at one of the charity's community hubs and finishing at another.
Turning Tides is the largest provider of support for homeless men and women in West Sussex and the work they do is absolutely vital. They run 39 projects across the county and have never faced the challenges they are seeing now. More and more people are losing their homes as Covid 19 escalates job losses, mental health issues and relationship breakdown. People from all walks of life are being affected - homelessness can happen to anyone, particularly now.
Turning Tides believe everyone has a right to a home, regardless of the difficulties and issues they may face in their lives. They are determined, with your help, to try and rise to the challenges ahead. They also believe in showing those that need their help, that the wider community are there to support them too.
So we are very happy (sort of...!) to run our legs off for this great cause! Please do support us - we can't thank you enough xxxxx
£118 could fund a whole day's emergency outreach for as many as 30 people.
£50 could fund a night in the recovery service, a potentially life saving step.
£18 could fund 6 breakfasts for someone sleeping rough.

PS We must also say thank you to Bognor Regis Tone Zone Runners, who brought us together and who provide coaching, encouragement and friendship.
