More Information on Cransley Hospice;

Cransley Hospice provides hospice and palliative care services for the population of north Northamptonshire.

The philosophy of the hospice is care focused on the “whole person” and incorporates physical, psychological, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients when cure is no longer possible.

Cransley Hospice is a 9 bedded adult in-patient unit providing specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses. Referrals to Cransley Hospice are accepted from a GP, Community Nurse, Hospital Consultant or a Specialist Nurse. Appropriate reasons
for admission to the hospice include potential/existing problems with the following –

• Pain and symptom management
• Aiming to meet the psychological, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients,
their families and/or significant others
• End of life care/dying

In addition patients can be referred to be seen in the outpatient clinic or at home by a doctor specialising in palliative care, a Palliative Care Nurse Specialist, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist or a psychologist.
