On 19 September 2011 Robert Alan Fischer passed away peacefully at home.   Alan had a great passion for many sports and pastimes from skiing to golf and mountain biking. He always loved being out on his bike and had a dream to ride through France one day. We are taking on the challenge to raise money for The Grove House Hospice by riding through France from the north coast finishing on the south coast travelling via the Dordogne region in July & August 2013. France was particularly a favourite country for Alan and this challenge seems perfect to describe him and remember him by.

He was helped greatly in the final weeks by the amazing staff and home care that is provided by The Grove House hospice in St Albans. He wanted to be at home not hospital where he could look out at the garden and enjoy the surroundings rather than being stuck in a ward. Grove house provided a fantastic level of care that allowed him to stay at home.

Grove House is a charity that relies heavily on fundraising and donations to fund its operations and this is where we want to help.
