Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the London Marathon in April 2016 in memory of my dad, Stephen Murphy. My dad was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer called mesothelioma in 2013 and was cared for by the Royal Marsden until he passed away in February 2015. Unfortunately my dad's cancer was terminal but the staff at the Royal Marsden did all they could to help him, and my mum and I, and made sure he could lead as normal a life as possible.
My dad was incredibly strong, never moaned and never complained. I will be remembering this as I train for the London Marathon - a huge distance in comparison to the 10km runs I've done!
Losing my dad was the hardest experience of my life but I hope that by doing the London Marathon I can do his memory proud.
Any donation you give will be greatly appreciated and will go towards the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity who do amazing work caring for people affected by cancer and researching ways to treat and cure this horrible disease.
