Story
In September I am off to Brazil to raise money for the children and young people at Acorns Children's Hospice.I have worked at the hospice in Walsall since it opened it's doors in June 1999. I have had a variety of roles within the hospice ,starting as a staff nurse, I then became the activities co-ordinator ,which gave me the opportunity to take the children and young people to many fun and exciting places over the years.Since June this year I have joined the community team, supporting families and young people in their own homes which I find very rewarding.
When Acorn's began using Treks as a means of raising funds my children were to young to leave, I no longer have that excuse! I have been training at the gym and walking the great outdoors as a means of being able to trek an average of twelve miles a day through a variety of mountainous terrain. The 6am starts worry more than the snakes and huge spiders, hence the need for coffee!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Acorns Children's Hospice Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now, and really make a difference to local young people with life limited illnesses.
Many thanks for your support.
