Story
Relay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising to make breakthroughs happen. Across the UK and the globe, teams of friends and family fundraise for world-leading cancer research. Then, we unite as a collective at a weekend-long festival to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress we’re making. Together, we remember loved ones and celebrate the tomorrow’s made possible. Together we are beating cancer. How does the money you raise make a difference? When you fundraise for Relay For Life, we fund long-term research. And when we fund long-term research, we make more discoveries. Over time, these discoveries make giant strides towards a world where everyone lives longer, better lives free from the fear of cancer.
I had cancer 15 years ago and thanks to our wonderful NHS, I'm enjoying life. However, I have lost dear friends to this disease and I am fortunate to have the opportunity to contribute towards this fundraiser in their memory and of others, as well as celebrating the many of us who continue to live the best lives we can despite cancer
I'm a member of the Dunbar Sings 24 hour Relay Team in the event taking place at Hallhill, Dunbar on the 22nd-23rd June. I'm also involved in organising an Afternoon Tea on Saturday June 8th with home baking, bubbly and singing at Dunbar Parish Hall from 2 to 4 pm. There are a few tickets left at £17, please message me very soon if you are interested.
I know there are many fundraising appeals, but any donation, however small, is very welcome. Thank you for your support.
