Story
I have put on my running shoes to attempt my first half marathon!
I am running to support Horatio's Garden which was established in memory of Horatio Chapple, whose vision it was to create gardens at NHS spinal injury centres for use by patients facing life changing injuries and long hospital stays. The first garden, at Salisbury Hospital, was opened in 2012 followed by four more. The aim is to build a garden at every NHS spinal injury centre in the UK.
These beautiful gardens are a haven away from the hospital wards and have been shown to have a positive impact on patients' rehabilitation. The Salisbury garden made a difference to a friend of mine and his family who were dealing with a life changing paralysis.
Do take a look at the beautiful gardens at https://www.horatiosgarden.org.uk/about-us/
A novice runner, I have been training since November and trying to avoid injury! My running shoes are now caked in mud but I am determined to make it to my 13 mile target. Any donation that you can give will be so gratefully received and will spur me on with the rest of my training and the run, on 29th March 2020.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
