Story
In October 2023 I started suffering from crippling headaches which a week later was diagnosed as a brain tumour.
I’m so very grateful to my GP, The team at Raigmore hospital and my wonderful Neurosurgeon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as my tumour was removed just before Christmas 2023.
It’s been a tough 10 months trying to get used to the new me as my brain doesn’t seem to be quite working like it used to but very much hoping I’ll get back to ‘normal’ at some point soon 🙂
Very spookily, a year to the day of my first headache this challenge event popped up in my Facebook feed and that was a ‘sign’ I needed to me to get signed up to take on this 99 miles in November challenge for Brain Tumour Research.
No one can tell me what caused my tumour, why it bled (which my consultant had never seen before) or if I’ll get another one in the future.
I’d be very grateful for and donations (big or small) to help this charity find answers to my situation and more importantly help those who are sadly left in a much worse condition than I am ☹️
Any cheers along the way if you see me out on my bike, swimming in loch Achilty or out for a walk will be very welcome too xx
