Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Breast Cancer Care relies on the generosity of people like you to fund the expert support and information for people living with breast cancer in the UK.
When people close to me have been diagnosed with the illness it has had a huge impact on their lives. When I started introducing exercise into my life last year I could not stop thinking about those close to me and the battles they were facing. After several months I started thinking more and more about how I wanted to do something to help. I've never raised money before for anything singlehandedly and never having run in my life before November 2011 maybe I seem mad attempting a marathon! But with that said, myself and about 10,000 other runners faced the driving winds and constant rain on 29th April 2012. It was a difficult day for runners and spectators. My heart goes out to those runners who could not finish due to cold, injury or exhaustion. I would just like to say a huge 'Thank You' so much to my family and friends who stood soaking wet in the rain to cheer me on. It was all of you that got me through the day, before, during and after. Given the current financial climate Thank you so much to everyone who has sponsored me so far. A big thank you goes out also to you ALL [family, friends, my local community and my church] for the support and encouragement in the last few months.
The people in my life who have been affected by breast cancer are a daily inspiration to me, with their courage, resilience and determination. I'm proud to know them and have them in my life. I want charities such as this to always be available to breast cancer sufferers. Breast Cancer Care is for anyone affected by breast cancer. They bring people together, provide information and support, and campaign for improved standards of care.
