As most of you know my husband, Alan, died 5 years ago now. I was over a year into my new life when I discovered Widowed and Young by chance. What a lifeline, a support network of people who ‘get it’, and a realisation that you’re not the only person struggling with the fall out from death. 

So now as I approach a ‘big’ birthday I am having a go at something never tried before, and being in/on the water is not one of my favourite activities so why am I doing it? To raise awareness of this vital charity, to raise funds, to give something back for the support I’ve had, to give my boys a laugh and because you have to grab life with both hands and sometimes say ‘oh go on then’!
