Story
Many of us know someone affected by Alzheimer's - whether as a sufferer or as a friend or relative of a sufferer. Both of my late parents were afflicted by the disease, and while this yielded its comedy moments, it is still hard to fathom the frustration that both they, and other sufferers, must have felt - especially in the early days when they must have known only too well that things were slipping away. I have decided this year to use at least one of my charity cycles to raise money in the hope that one day soon we will have found a cure for it.
2015 saw the Braveheart ride fromw Blackpool Tower to the Liver Building in Liverpool, and this is being recreated again in 2016. I am grateful to my friend Paula Muldoon for setting up this ride. She is an inspirational lady and I look forward to riding this event with her. No centurion helmets this time please.
Additionally, for 2016 I am adding at least one further cycle along the Lancaster Canal in late May. This is to get me to the other organised Braveheart event - an exercise marathon consisting of back-to-bcak sessions in bodycombat, boxercise, bootcamp and a couple of other activities. Whew!
