Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Taking part in a challenge of this kind was an idea dreamed up with a group of friends last year, as we saw our 50th birthdays fast approaching!
How to mark this special year with an occasion that would be both fun, memorable and a way of giving something back at the same time? We decided on the Macmillan Trekathon, which will see us walking the 26 miles between Stonehenge and Avebury on the 14th July 2012.
Training has begun, with circuits of Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park (not yet simultaneously!) and although I may be the slowest member of 'Team Jo', I am no less enthusiastic than my six fellow team members.
Those of you who know me, Dave and Luca will be aware that cancer has touched the lives of far too many of our close friends and family in these past few years. For this reason, a charity that supports people living with cancer was an obvious choice for my fundraising efforts.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Many thanks for your support. Think of us on the day!
