Educating women in Africa can have a miraculous effect -  a girl who has been to school  will have a smaller, healthier family, be more productive and be much less likely to get HIV. The UN estimates that educating women to the same level as men would reduce the number of malnourished people by 120million.  In Kenya alone is is estimated that an extra 1year of educating teenage girls would result in a 25% increase in the maize harvest.
