Fundraising for Tia's Crown
Story

My name is Fiona Roberts & I live in Birstall, West Yorkshire. I have been so lucky to be announced as a finalist for Dance Floor Heroes which will take place on Friday 24th February 2023 in Blackpool. As part of this, all the 12 finalists have been asked to raise money to support the amazing charity Tia’s Crown.
Tia’s Crown is a relatively new charity which is aiming to improve people’s mental and physical health through dancing. Having recently lost my mum to a short yet aggressive battle with cancer, I threw myself into work (I'm a Curriculum Leader for Maths & Computing at a Secondary School) to hide and distract myself from daily struggles. Since applying to be a part of Dance Floor Heroes, which supports Tia’s crown, I realised how much I needed something to bring back the old sparkly me. Dancing has given me the opportunity.
I have been given a professional dance partner and I will be learning a routine to perform in Blackpool. Even though I have danced in the past (a VERY long time ago!) I am soooo nervous and wish my mum could be here to support me. Having gone to watch Strictly NHS in June 2021 and the Tia's crown launch I have seen first hand how much difference this charity can make.
I know times are tough at the minute, but I would appreciate whatever amount you can give, big or small! Look out for raffles & exciting things happening on my social media to help raise money to save the world one Cha Cha at a time!
