We all want to do our bit to help protect society against Covid 19 virus and wearing face coverings is a great help.

But you may have seen a lot of single-use face masks littering the streets.  These light-weight masks may have been carelessly discarded or they may have just blown away.  Whatever the reason, the clearing up is usually left to front line staff such as cleaners or maintenance workers, but often it becomes nobody's responsibility.

The masks that are not cleared up can end up being washed into open drains, carried into the oceans and on to shorelines.

The plastics in these single-use face masks do not recycle and are not bio-degradable.  Did you know that single-use face masks can take up to  450 years to decompose?

This is definitely worth thinking about!

My face-coverings are light-weight and breathable, machine washable and can be used over and over again and would make a great stocking filler.
