Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are a group of volunteer fundraisers and this Christmas we're aiming to raise £333 which pays for a MacMillan nurse for a day and a half. Read the story below to find out why making a donation instead of sending a Christmas card will mean many more people will have a happier Christmas. Huge thanks for your donations and happy Christmas!
On 11 December 2008 Denise and Tony Green were told that their daughter Amy had cancer. She was just two and a half years old.
Macmillan nurse Wendy has given the Greens invaluable support throughout Amy’s treatment, helping them to come to terms with her illness, taking the time to explain everything to them in a way they could understand and involving them in every aspect of Amy’s care.
No family should have to cope with cancer without a Wendy of their own.
But there are two million people living with cancer in the UK, including 16,000 children and we simply can’t support every family who needs us.
By making a donation to Macmillan’s Christmas appeal, you can make sure another child has the support of a Macmillan nurse like Wendy.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
