Story

PUT THIS DATE IN YOUR DIARY! Saturday 27th April 2019

Many of you will already know that I took the plunge and dipped my toe into the world of dancing in July 2018 after putting it 'on hold' for far too long and that it has been the beginning of a most intoxicating and euphoric journey. I have discovered that dance leaves you with aching muscles in your cheeks from smiling and laughing so much and that it melts away the stresses of life. Therefore, I have now decided it's time to push myself out of my comfort zone by putting myself into the spotlight. It's time to stop wishing I was a better dancer and to actually become one! So I have committed to raising a minimum of £500 and selling a minimum of 10 tickets for a dance extravaganza in which I will compete with others in a Strictly Learn to dance competition. St Luke’s Hospice were very supportive when my mother underwent treatment for cancer so it is a pleasure to be giving something back. I will be matched with a professional / semi-professional dance partner and train with him for 10 weeks before performing in front of a panel of judges and an audience (hopefully you will be there to give me a score of 10!!). I promise you all that I will work hard and do my best.
Please... Please... Please... sponsor as generously as you can to help me to raise this money for a most amazing cause (see below) but if times are hard... dont worry as small donations still add up!! I will probably be terrified on the night but will be proud to have pushed myself as hard as I can, challenged myself to become a better dancer and the scariest of all.... exposing myself to the judging panel and onlookers!! whilst raising this money. Thank you... much love x

Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year we supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care on our ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness. We are a charity and provide all our care for free, so we rely on the generosity and commitment of our supporters to raise more than 80% of our costs.
