As most of you know my son Fergus died very suddenly aged just 12 years old in November 2008. Since then myself, family and friends have raised money for Retrak in memory of Fergus. Although nothing can bring Fergus back we can bring life to street children in Africa who find themselves destitute and living on the streets through no fault of their own. 

In February whilst feeling the need to do something positive in memory of Fergus I decided to climb Mt Kilimanjaro for Retrak. I then roped in Al, my best friend and Fergus's Godmother, my sister Annie and Annies friend Natalie.This is a huge physical challenge requiring more training than I ever imagined with either spin class, running, gym or walking becoming a daily occurance for all of us! It will also be a huge emotional challenge. As those who know me well will know one of the ways I cope with living without Fergus is by keeping very busy. Having 8 days of nothing to do other than put one foot in front of the other will give me lots of time to think but we will share our happy memories of Fergus and carry him in our hearts to the top of the mountain.

Please give what you can, Retrak are such a deserving charity. We are funding the trip ourselves so every penny we raise will go to Retrak. In addition to this Retrak have just been awarded UK Aid matched funding by the UK Government so all donations made between 6th September and 5th December will be doubled.
