Story
Sofia should have been having her birthday party this week. She should be enjoying P1 with her friends. Sofia should be on holiday with us, running along the beach and being cheeky to her mummy and daddy. However we can only imagine what she should be doing and what she'd be like now as she's not here to enjoy her life. Sofia died aged 3 ½ in September 2016.
More must be done to stop this awful virus affecting so many babies and children. Most people haven't heard of CMV but sadly its not as uncommon as you may think. Sofia had to try so hard at everything, from holding her head to eating lumpy foods. Whilst she had seizures, numerous hospital appointments, future hip surgery, a visual impairment, physiotherapy, occupational therapy (and other things!), Sofia taught us to enjoy our lives and brought so much happiness to us as a family. We miss her so much and feel sad that she is no longer with us. I hate to think of anyone else going through this and more must be done to prevent CMV ruining lives.
Harry, Ellis and Flora have chosen to climb a munro with a couple of their friends to remember their beautiful sister. In doing so they are hoping to raise a wee bit of funding for the charity to support other families, raise awareness and promote research into CMV.
Thanks for reading and for any money you can give ♥️
