As you may know, I try and do some sort of charity fund-raising every year which involves physical activity.  I'm simply not blessed with co-ordination so I need a cause to launch my singularly accident prone self on the waiting world. 

This year I'm raising money for the children's charity, Over the Wall.  You may not have heard of them - they offer life-changing experiences to children and young people with serious or life-limiting illness through week-long free 'camps'. 

Casually mentioned by husband (whose adrenaline knows few bounds), an abseil sounds like My Ultimate Development Opportunity.  I can't stand heights and even the London Underground 'down' escalator can be a challenge some days.  It'll be 100M down Portsmouth's landmark Spinnaker Tower.  But it is for such a good cause and they tell me the view will be fantastic if I can open my eyes, and hold onto my glasses!
